What is BMX Racing?
BMX racing is a fast-paced, high-energy cycling sport where riders sprint on a purpose-built dirt track featuring jumps, berms, and rollers. It's a sport of skill, speed, and strategy, offering an adrenaline-fueled experience for both competitors and spectators.
Born in the late 60s, BMX has grown from kids mimicking motocross onto a global stage, now featuring as a premier Olympic event. In the Western Cape, it is a deeply community-driven and family-friendly sport where riders of all ages develop fitness, confidence, and lifelong friendships.

Many riders start young, including balance-bike and junior age groups, depending on club guidance and event categories.
